Typhoons are dangerous.
And we're here to mitigate them
Casualties
How typhoons can affect people
According to the news sources, over 17 people were killed by floods and landslides after Typhoon Parma struck the Philippines.
Ilocos Norte reported 924 homes were affected by the flood, while Benguet reported 6 homes damaged by landslides
Over 9.3 million people were affected by Typhoon Pepeng along with Typhoon Ondoy. It claimed 956 lives, 700 were injured, and left 84 people missing.
Solutions
How does one conquer these typhoons?
Have a preparedness plan. This is to ensure that you know what steps you should take in case of emergency. Charge your devices, and have a preparedness kit.
Preparedness won't come in handy if you don't know what's going on around you. Nowadays, you can stay updated by listening to radio, watching TV, and reading articles from trusted news sources online.
During a typhoon, seek a safe place to evacuate. Preferrably, underground. Listen for updates in the radio, and wait for updates on when you can safely go out.
